📜 The Founding Manifesto of the New Union
Adopted in the ruins of the old republic.
Spoken into law by no monarch, but by the people alone.
This is not a beginning. This is a reckoning.
I. Of Collapse
The nation that once stood has fallen — not with fire, nor invasion, but with erosion. Trust dissolved. Truth distorted. Leadership devoured itself in the hunger for control. States once united crumbled into isolation, ambition eclipsing unity.
And yet, in the heart of the fallen republic, Washington D.C. endures — its streets still standing, its halls empty but echoing. It is here that the first embers of a new Union stir.
II. Of Responsibility
No constitution will be imposed by unseen hands. No leader shall rise by preordained script. We reject the passivity of mere players. You are not citizens in name only — you are architects of history, framers of the future, stewards of something better.
Every law. Every vote. Every press article and every protest. It all matters. Because in this world, what you do becomes what our Union is.
III. Of Structure
The Union shall be rebuilt one ratified state at a time. Laws will not be assumed — they must be written. Rights will not be granted — they must be defended. Power is not assigned — it is earned in the arena of civic life.
The Constitution is a living document. You may amend it. You may uphold it. You may burn it down — but only if you are prepared to answer to those who will rise against you.
IV. Of Simulated and Living Citizens
You are not alone. Around you walk others — some real, some simulated — but all watching, voting, judging. The Union never sleeps. The press speaks, the people react, and history unfolds whether you lead it or not.
V. Of Legacy
This is your chance to write not a character, but a chapter. What will your legacy be? Statesman or demagogue? Unifier or insurgent? Your name will be remembered — for the reforms you championed or the chaos you unleashed.
The Union will not forget what you build. Or what you destroy.
This is Becoming Civil.
And you are one of the First Citizens of the New Union.
